WAYLAND, MI (WKZO AM/FM) ā Hot nā Now is now open in Wayland across the street from the Gun Lake Casino Resort.
Monica King is the CEO of Gun Lake Investments and was very happy to celebrate the restaurant opening Monday morning.
She does say, however, that the 39-cent hamburgers the chain used to be known for in the 1980s and 1990s are not going to return.
The hamburger price is $2.77, cheeseburgers are $2.97, double cheeseburgers are $4.97, and the Olive Burger and popcorn chicken are $3.77. The menu has just ten items, and King says that is to keep quality up.
Hot nā Now was founded in Kalamazoo in the 1980s, expanded across 15 states, and went bankrupt in the early 2000s. Only one location in Sturgis stayed open, and the menu there is different than the new restaurant in Wayland.
