KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – There are open beds available for the homeless in Kalamazoo at the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
Chief operating officer John Simpson says they have 80 beds for men and 60 beds for women and have implemented a new policy on capacity.
The mission has stopped putting mats on the floor for overflow guests and Simpson says they have had open beds since they made the change October 6th.
The Kalamazoo Gospel Mission uses a lottery to assign beds with names entered for available locations.
57 people have entered Gospel Mission programming since the policy change was made.
