OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Two men are in the Kalamazoo County Jail after they were arrested Monday by the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team and Crime Reduction Team on several illegal weapons violations.
Both men were arrested in a parking lot in the 5000 block of West KL Avenue in Oshtemo Townhip.
One man is 27-years-old, the other is 45-years-old, and both are Kalamazoo residents.
The younger man was seen by officers concealing a gun in his waistband in the parking lot before getting into a vehicle, and they knew he was a convicted felon who was not allowed to have a gun.
A loaded Glock handgun with a high-capacity magazine was found next to him in the vehicle, and the 45-year-old man was also seen discarding an item from his waistband and putting it on the floor of the vehicle.
Officers found the gun at his feet and then found two loaded magazines for the firearm when they searched the vehicle. He also is a convicted felon and not allowed to have a gun.
Their names have not been released.
