LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A new poll from EPIC-MRA shows the race for governor in 2026 is tight a year out.
In the poll, Republican Congressman John James leads Democratic Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson by one-point, 34-to-33%, and Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan is third with 20%.
James and Benson are each running for their party’s nomination and both face primary opponents. Among James’ opponents in the Republican primary is state Senate Minority Leader Aric Nesbitt of Van Buren County.
The poll also finds Democratic Congresswoman Haley Stevens leads former Republican Congressman Mike Rogers in the race for the U.S. Senate, 44-to-42%, and state Senator Mallory McMorrow leads Rogers 43-to-42%.
