WASHINGTON, DC (WKZO AM/FM) – U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin is responding to President Donald Trump threatening her and other Democrats with death for a video message asking military members to refuse following illegal orders.
On Truth Social, Trump called the video bad and dangerous to the country, said their words “cannot be allowed to stand,” and then in all-caps wrote “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!!”
In a follow up post, he said seditious behavior is “punishable by DEATH!”
Slotkin responded in a video post on social media.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt is defending President Trump, saying at her press briefing Thursday that he doesn’t want to execute Democrats who posted a video asking military members to refuse illegal orders, and then went after the lawmakers.
The press secretary said sitting members of Congress posted a video encouraging military members “to defy the President’s lawful orders.”
Leavitt said the “radical message” from sitting members of Congress could inspire chaos and incite violence.
