EAST LANSING, MI — Michigan State University says it plans to pour millions of dollars into adding a second indoor riding arena to its Ag Pavilion just south of campus.
The MSU Board of Trustees has authorized the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources to begin planning the second indoor arena. Pending final construction approval, a new arena will increase the size and quality of the facility’s events while improving experiences for animals, exhibitors and attendees, according to a press release.
There are two options, according to the plans that have been released. One estimate calls for a 24,000 square foot riding arena on the east side of the existing building for $11 million. An expanded version calls for the riding arena to be built on the west side of the ag complex at an estimated cost of up to $19 million.
