KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A suspect is in custody after police say he fired into the parking lot of a Gull Road party store from a moving vehicle in Kalamazoo Township.
Last Friday around 3:00 p.m., members of the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team (KVET) and Crime Reduction Team (CRT) were conducting an illegal weapons directed patrol in the 1900 block of Gull Road in Kalamazoo Township. While conducting surveillance of the area, they saw a man firing three shots from a moving vehicle, across numerous lanes of traffic into the parking lot of the Gull Road Party Store at 1930 Gull Road. The vehicle then headed westbound on Gull Road into the city of Kalamazoo.
The KDPS Operations Division assisted CRT investigators with a traffic stop in the 800 block of Porter Street, where they pulled over the shooting suspect vehicle. Two males were detained, and the firearm used in the incident was located inside the vehicle.
No one was injured in the shooting.
Monday 22-year-old Rayshawn Pratcher of Kalamazoo County was arraigned on numerous weapons offenses in connection with the shooting incident. Bond was set at $500,000.
