KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – It was five years ago this week that President Trump’s supporters engaged in the riot at the U.S. Capitol, and Kalamazoo County Sheriff Rick Fuller says there is one group that has been forgotten since then: the officers who defended the building and Congress.
Fuller told the Kalamazoo County Board this week that a bill has been proposed to honor those men, but it’s been blocked from coming to a vote since 2023.
He says one officer died, others have committed suicide since then, and many officers were injured that day. Fuller says they should be remembered.
He is urging people to contact their congressman and urge them to get back to work to approve the resolution to support the officers who protected the Capitol, and all the other bills and actions that need attention right now.
