LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Michigan Court of Claims judge has denied the request by the Attorney General to halt the lawsuits challenging the new 24% wholesale tax on cannabis products.
The two-page order from Judge Sima Patel means the lawsuits filed by the Michigan Cannabis Industry Association, PF Manufacturing, and Holistic Research Group are moving forward.
MCIA spokesperson Rose Tantraphol says the ruling is “another confirmation that our legal arguments have merit and deserve to be heard.”
The tax took effect January 1st and was part of the Fiscal Year 2026 budget approved last fall.
