LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan House Speaker Matt Hall of Richland says his chamber will “take risks” and “do bold things” in 2026, despite it being an election year.
The southwest Michigan Republican says former Speaker Joe Tate of Detroit ran things “very carefully” in 2024 and the Democrats lost their majority in the November election.
Hall says his hope is they will have “some very aggressive and needed changes to Michigan law that are going to make life better for people.”
He says medical affordability is one of his priorities.
