SHERIDAN TOWNSHIP, MI (WXZO AM/FM) – A 21-year-old man from Sheridan Township, , was arrested by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, following a multi-state investigation into the sexual exploitation of a minor.
The case began when the Atkinson Police Department in Nebraska contacted Michigan authorities, reporting that the suspect had engaged in a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl from Holt County, Nebraska.
Investigators determined that the man had traveled to Nebraska, where he engaged in sexual conduct with the underage victim.
As part of the probe, detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in the 13000 block of 29 Mile Road in Sheridan Township, seizing several computers and cell phones as evidence.
The unidentified suspect was taken into custody and lodged in the Calhoun County Jail, facing felony charges including soliciting a minor for immoral purposes, using a computer to commit a crime, and disseminating sexually explicit matter to a minor.
The investigation, conducted with assistance from the Atkinson Police Department and the Holt County District Attorney’s Office, remains ongoing.
