KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo’s new $100-million Career and Technical Center is off to a flying start in its first year of operation and looking forward to an eventful spring.
The comprehensive and unified vocational education center near Wings Event Center kicked off enrollment for their second year with an open house last night and KRESA Assistant Superintendent Eric Stewart says they are optimistic heading into year two.
He says the year began with some in-house vocational education for their own staff which was largely drawn from the industries they were hired to teach.
He says they plan more enrollment events in schools around the county for the rest of this school year.
The real test of their success may come in a few months when they will hold their first career fairs to launch their graduates into the workforce.
