PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The original owner of Portage breakfast icon Antique Kitchen is returning to reopen the restaurant with employees.
Antique Kitchen closed January 25th, with the employees not being told until that morning that they were losing their jobs.
It had been open since 1971 on South Westnedge Avenue, and server and marketing coordinator Luie Ramirez says former owner Jackie Dutton teamed up with them to start making needed renovations.
Ramirez says they don’t yet have a date for reopening, but believes they will be ready by Sunday, March 1st.
