BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Hart-Dole-Inouye Federal Center in downtown Battle Creek has been identified for accelerated disposition by the U.S. General Services Administration.
The GSA plans to dispose of the surplus property and calls the building “underutilized and functionally obsolete.”
Congressman Bill Huizenga of Zeeland says the announcement is a disappointment, but he says disposing the property will save taxpayers money.
Around 1,400 people, many of them with military backgrounds, currently work at the federal center.
