KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A man was arrested early Thursday morning for Operating While Intoxicated after his vehicle rolled on its side and severely damaged a Consumers Energy utility pole.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says the single-vehicle crash happened around 2:45 a.m. near Douglas Avenue and West Paterson Street.
When officers arrived on the scene they found a 2007 Honda Pilot overturned on its side in the front yard of a residence in the 1200 block of Douglas Avenue. The vehicle had also struck the utility pole.
The 24-year-old male driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
In making their arrest, KDPS says evidence observed inside the vehicle corroborated the impairment investigation. The driver was taken into custody without incident.
