MARSHALL, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Eastbound and westbound I-94 at Marshall will be closed this weekend as crews demolish the M-96 (Michigan Avenue) bridge over I-94 as part of the Marshall Modernization Project.
M-96 already is closed at I-94. During demolition, I-94 will be closed between I-194 Exit 98 and M-311/11 Mile Road Exit 104.
The Michigan Department of Transportation says work will start at 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 6 and is expected to be completed by 6:00 a.m. Sunday, March 8.
Eastbound I-94 will be detoured on northbound I-194, eastbound Columbia Avenue, eastbound Michigan Avenue, eastbound Wheatfield Parkway and southbound 11 Mile Road.
Westbound I-94 will be detoured on westbound Wheatfield Parkway, westbound Michigan Avenue, westbound Columbia Avenue and southbound I-194.
The Marshall Modernization Project began last spring and will continue until late 2027 at an estimated cost of $330 million.
