KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo County Democratic Party’s offices were evacuated Saturday due to a suspicious package being found.
Police shut down South Westnedge Avenue between Whites Road and Hutchinson Street for the bomb squad to investigate.
The Kalamazoo County Democratic Party says the package turned out to not have anything hazardous, and no one was injured.
Republican Congressman Bill Huizenga, who represents the county, said he is glad everyone was safe and says Republican County Parties around the state, including Kalamazoo County, have had similar situations.
