BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan State Police had extra patrols out along Interstate 94 from the Indiana border to Port Huron cracking down on distracted drivers.
The “Lake to Lake, Focused and Safe” effort was done by MSP, Indiana State Police, Ontario Provincial Police, and local law enforcement along the highway.
Michigan officials say it was the first joint international distracted driving enforcement operation in North America.
Last year, distracted driving resulted in over 14-thousand crashes in Michigan and killed 65 people.
