PENNFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Four people from the Battle Creek area are in the Calhoun County Jail on charges of robbery and aggravated assault with a weapon.
The suspects are accused of shooting a man with an Orbeez-style gel blaster and stealing his cellphone just after 12:30 Thursday morning in the 1600 block of NE Capital Avenue in Pennfield Township.
The victim was taken to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital for his injuries, and the suspects were found at a home in the 200 block of Fremont Street by a Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputy.
Two 19-year-old men, one 20-year-old man, and a 21-year-old woman were all arrested.
Police found gel pellets in the vehicle along with gel blasters. They also seized a .40 caliber Glock handgun that was hidden under a seat.
The victim’s phone was recovered as well from inside the vehicle.
