BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 31-year-old woman is in taken into custody and charged with murder in the shooting death of a man in Battle Creek Sunday afternoon.
Battle Creek Police officers arrived in the 100 block of South Ridgeway Drive around 4:30 p.m., responding to a call for a shooting victim. The woman was located outside of the residence and directed officers arriving on scene into the home.
Officers located a 31-year-old man inside of the residence with apparent gunshot wounds to his upper torso. LifeCare Ambulance, also on scene, attempted life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman was taken into custody and lodged at the Calhoun County Jail on a charge of open murder, where she is currently awaiting arraignment.
