HAMILTON, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Allegan County Sheriff’s Office says no charges will be filed in the crash that killed Hamilton Fire Chief David Haverdink on December 23rd last year.
The 74-year-old was hit by a passing vehicle when he was working a medical incident on M-40 near 136th Avenue and died on Christmas in the hospital.
The sheriff’s office says their Allegan County Crash Reconstruction Team investigated and determined charges should not be filed against the driver who hit Haverdink.
He had been fire chief for the past 40 years and was also elected Allegan County sheriff twice.
