KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Rx Kids is expanding in Kalamazoo and Calhoun counties.
Enrollment starts June 1st in the city of Galesburg, Oshtemo Township, and Wakeshma Township in Kalamazoo County.
The enrollment will begin July 1st in the cities of Albion, Battle Creek, and Springfield along with Sheridan Township in Calhoun County.
Rx Kids provides expectant mothers with $1,500 during pregnancy and $500 a month for at least the first six months of their baby’s life.
The expansion this summer will bring the program to over 60 communities in the state and will reach over 23,000 births every year.
It started in Flint and has been expanding for several years, including the city of Kalamazoo.
