KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – US-131 between I-94 and Parkview Drive in Kalamazoo County is now officially known as the Master Sergeant Gregory T. Kuhse Memorial Highway.
State Senator Sean McCann and state House Speaker Matt Hall were among those who spoke Monday morning at the dedication ceremony at the Michigan Department of Transportation on South 9th Street.
McCann sponsored the bill that passed both chambers unanimously.
Hall noted US-131 has a lot of traffic every day.
Kuhse was killed October 11th of 2015 in Afghanistan in a crash of a British helicopter at the NATO Resolute Support Mission headquarters in Kabul and he was one of five people who died.
