KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Over 5,000 runners took part in the Zeigler Kalamazoo Marathon on Sunday, the largest turnout in the event’s history.
48-year-old Samuel Darling of Whitehall won the marathon in just over two-hours-41-minutes and 31-year-old Kayleigh Hott was the fastest female runner at just over three-hours.
She finished 12th overall.
The half-marathon was won by Ryan Kachnowski of Wixom at one-hour-11-minutes, almost seven minutes ahead of the closest competitor.
The event began in Bronson Park at 7 a.m.
