PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Due to the Extreme Heat Warning issued by the National Weather Service, the Patriotic Pops: Stars, Stripes, and the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra concert this Wednesday, July 1, has been moved indoors to the Portage Central High School Auditorium, 8135 South Westnedge Avenue.
It was orginally scheduled for the Overlander Bandshell at Portage’s Central Park.
The main entrance at the high school will be closed, so you’re asked to enter through door 35 from the Stable Parking Lot. Parking is available in all lots.
Patriotic Pops: Stars, Stripes, and the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra begins at 7:30 p.m. with first-come, first-served seating starting at 6:30 p.m.
The concert will include music by John Philip Sousa, John Williams, Duke Ellington, Aaron Copland, and George Gershwin.
The event is free and sponsored by the Rotary Club of Portage, Tyler-Little Family Foundation, and Meyer C. Weiner Company.
